Day 3 of the Olympia Rally! Today’s stage marks the beginning of the marathon, a true test of endurance and skill, spanning from Lalas, passing by Ziria, and ending at Xylokastro. This challenging leg took competitors through a variety of terrains, each demanding expert navigation and unwavering focus.
The marathon stage meant the competitors had to ensure they didn’t push to the limit, as tire changes were not allowed. Every ride was focused on both the route and conserving tires for the return to the bivouac the next day.
First to finish the stage was #69 Mike Wiedemann (DE) on a YAMAHA TENERE XTZ, with a time of 4:44:26. He was followed by #317 Mats Jännebring (SE) on a KTM 450 EXC in second place with a time of 4:55:56, and the local #602 John Sevastopoulos (GR) on a YAMAHA TENERE XTZ in third place with a time of 4:56:08.
